- If your application is accepted, the staff will assign you an Origin. That is, a place on the boards where you were born. You should begin your RP in that general area.
- All posts within the RP sections must be made IC. A forum will be provided for RP discussions. Anything that needs to be addressed regarding RP may be discussed on the discussion forum, or via PMs.
- Keep all posts at ten lines or longer. We will try to be understanding if they fall a little short since posts appear longer as they are being typed, and since it can sometimes be hard to come up with material to post. However, you are expected to make all posts at least 10 lines.
- Be as descriptive as possible, taking into consideration setting, emotions, and any behavior no matter how small.
- Do not god-mod. In other words, don’t post the actions of another player. Some creatures, such as small mammals and birds, are not being RPed, and you are welcome to post the actions those creatures. Also, creatures such as caribou or bison that travel in large herds, you may post the actions of members of the herd if they are not being specifically RPed. God-moding also includes having a character that cannot be wounded or killed.
- Please accompany each post with a relative timeline. Such as follows
• (Season, __Sunrise of the ___ moon, time of day) Title of Thread • Find the timelines for reference at the Timeline thread.
- Sexual RP will be allowed, so long as it is tastefully done. Since this RP deals mainly with animals, this should not be a problem. However, due to the fact that humans are also involved, and younger teens may be participating on the board, it is asked that you place a warning on the thread. A simple “[M]” For mature will suffice.
• [M] (Season, __Sunrise of the ___ moon, time of day) Title of Thread
- You may not post in more than one thread taking place in the same time period, unless you first close the thread you were in, and start a new thread. The old thread must contain a conclusion, stating where the thread will be continued, and the new thread must have an introduction stating the arrival of the party, and the thread it was continued from, you are allowed to join in other threads already in progress. I know this is confusing, so here’s an example.
• (Winter, 3rd sunrise of the 1st new moon, dusk.) Preparing for the Hunt o The dark colored female wolf raised her head, using her powerful nose to scent the air. Perhaps she could detect prey; she knew her pack was hungry. A soft howl escaped her muzzle, letting the rest of the pack know she had caught a scent; she trotted off towards the stream, knowing the rest of her pack would not be far behind. (Continued in Grazing) • (Winter, 3rd sunrise of the 1st new moon, dusk) Grazing o (Continued from Preparing for the Hunt) Golden eyes scanned the snowy horizon, and sure enough the female wolf had spotted the quarry she sought. There before here stood a herd of deer, her thin lips pulled back into a sort of grin as she sniffed the chilly winter air, searching out the ill and old, the weak deer that could be taken with little threat to her packs own safety. • It should be assumed in this example, that a deer had already begun the thread “Grazing”, and that the wolf had seen the thread, and decided to join into the thread as part of her hunt. • As a note on this rule, if a thread spans more than one time of day, please add the span of time to the subject. o (Fall, 2nd sunrise of the 3rd last half moon, dawn-morning) • Also note that it is not necessary for a thread to be closed entirely before a character can move to another, the character must simply be written out of the existing thread, and into the thread he/she is joining. Other characters may continue RPing in the previous Thread.
- It is considered polite to ask permission before joining a thread already in progress, though I will not require it.
- Before posting, please be sure that your character is already somewhere in the area. We can’t just have animals popping up randomly all over the map.
- Please keep up to date with all threads in your territory, as well as have a general understanding of the board as a whole.
